Functional Anatomy + Movement Mechanics
continuing education & 300hr YTT module
This 30-hour advanced training is designed for movement professionals who want to deepen their understanding of the body and the science of human movement. Combining functional anatomy, biomechanics, and movement science, this module explores how the body's structures and systems work together to create efficient, adaptable movement. Participants will study the relationships between bones, joints, muscles, fascia, connective tissues, and the nervous system, while developing a deeper understanding of concepts such as force production, mobility, stability, load management, and movement variability.
This module is designed to transform how you understand, teach, and influence movement. By developing a deeper understanding of why bodies move the way they do, you'll gain the ability to make more informed decisions as a teacher, coach, or movement professional. You'll learn to recognize the wide range of ways movement can be expressed across different bodies, helping you move beyond one-size-fits-all instruction and toward more effective, individualized coaching. The result is a stronger ability to analyze movement, communicate complex concepts with clarity, and deliver cues and coaching strategies that create meaningful, lasting impact for the people you serve.
Whether you teach yoga, strength training, rehabilitation, or other movement disciplines, this module will provide a deeper scientific foundation for the way you teach and understand movement.

module details
Fascia + Myofascial Release
Explore the fascial system through both science and practice, developing a deeper understanding of how fascia influences movement, force transmission, proprioception, recovery, and long-term tissue adaptability. This module combines education with practical application so you leave with tools you can immediately integrate into classes, client work, and personal practice.
Requirements
This module is open to yoga teachers, fitness professionals, bodyworkers, and movement practitioners with a foundational understanding of anatomy. If your work involves helping people move, recover, or perform, this training is designed to expand your knowledge and practical toolkit.
The Module Experience
Training days will blend lecture, discussion, movement practice, and hands-on application. You’ll explore fascial anatomy, tissue behavior, and nervous system response while learning practical myofascial release techniques and how to apply them effectively within movement programming, recovery practices, and teaching environments.
To complete the module you must perform one case study consisting of 2 hours of application and 1 hour for a small group presentation of your case and findings.
Credits/Hours/Application
This 25-hour module qualifies for Yoga Alliance continuing education hours and also counts toward completion of Seek Movement School’s 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Enrollment in the full 300-hour program is not required to participate.
